Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Chennai airport arrival 
On arriving at Chennai Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and taken to the pre-booked hotel and after getting rejuvenated and relaxed, you will go for sightseeing at Covelong (Kovalam) – a fishing village in Chennai which is 37 km away from Chennai and previously a port town developed by the Nawab of Carnatic, Saadat Ali. You will enjoy the exclusive sight of the fort which was built by the Dutch in colonial times and has been made the Taj Fisherman’s Cove, a private luxury beach resort. 

Covelong beach is one of the best places on the East Coast where you will have a good time for Wind Surfing. Afterward, you will have a sapid South Indian food followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Chennai.

Day 2 Covelong to Pondicherry (118 km)
Pondicherry
is the largest union territory. You will be mesmerized by the requisite view of moving to the most elegant Church of the territory - Eglise de Notre Dame des Anges. Day 3 Pondicherry to Thanjavur (166 km)

Day 4 Thanjavur to Tiruchirapalli (Trichy 58 km)
You will have a tempting breakfast and depart early for an excursion of Tiruchirapalli and cover the following places under your Best Kerala Tour: Kallanai 

  • Rangnathanswamy Temple, Srirangam - a generously spruced up temple complex which dates back more than 1,000 years with 7 enclosures.

Day 5 Tiruchirappalli to Madurai (135 km)

  • Embellished Meenakshi Amman Temple which is a walled Hindu place of worship with a pious water tank and colorful sculpted gate towers
  • Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal – an ancient magnificent Palace built by the king of Madurai dynasty - Thirumalai Nayak
  • Gandhi Memorial Museum – It is memorial built to pay tribute to Gandhi Ji in 1959 and it evidences the freedom struggle and its galleries include ‘Visual Biography’.
  • Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam - It is popular for the Float festival, which is celebrated in a florid way in the in the month of Thai as per the Tamil calendar (January 14th to February 15th). Thousands of tourists come to this place to see the festival, which takes place on a full moon night. The idols of Sundareshwarar and Meenakshi from the Meenakshi Amman temple is taken from the temple to the pond on gracefully ornamented floats. The sight of the floats, the temple, and the huge pond is a sight to perceive.
  • Goripalayam Dargah – The largest mosque in Madurai and houses tombs of two Muslim rulers–.Hazrat Sultan Alauddin Badusha and Hazrat Sultan Shamsuddin Badusha.

Day 6 Madurai to Periyar (148 km)
Your day will start with a refreshing cup of tea and a sapid breakfast. Afterward, you will be transported to the elegant Periyar view.

  • Periyar Lake (Thekkady) – The lake is located near the Periyar national reserve park which is a suitable place for boating.
  • Kumily – Kumily is a small town located near Thekkady and Periyar in the Cardamom Hills and named as the major spice trading center and tourist destination.

Day 7  Periyar to Kumarakom (113 km)
In the morning, after having a tempting breakfast, you will start your way to the enchanting backwater destination in Kuttanad region known as Kumarakom. The place offers lots of leisure for boating and houseboats to feel the ecstasy of the magical backwater destination.
Your evening will be spent in the luring bird sanctuary which has vivid species of different kind of birds and waterscape views. Afterward, you will have delicious food followed by an overnight stay.

Day 8 Kumarakom to Alleppey (32 km)
The next morning, you will have an energizing breakfast and will be visiting the largest backwater destination in Kerala – Alleppey which has a large network of island canals earning it the pseudonym ‘Venice of the East’ and these canals are the lifelines of mesmeric Alleppey. Day 9 Alleppey to Kochi (53 km)
